We are expecting great news this afternoon. We got an offer last Thursday and worked through the weekend to negotiate a deal that would work for both parties and are expecting the revise signed, contract this afternoon so we can sign tonight. It will still have a 7 day option period to allow for inspections but also has a closing date of April 30th. We are trying not to get too excited until after the option period, but we are praying this will close and we'll be on our way to San Antonio. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers for the next few weeks as we work out all the details of closing and moving cities with 2 kids. I'll update as we have news!
I realized tonight that if I put food on a fork for Emmie she can feed herself. Here she is...notice she's a little impatient while I'm getting the next bite!
We've had yet another crazy, sick week. I took Emmie to the doctor last Wednesday because I thought she was sick, ends up she had an ear infection in her left ear. We got our antibiotics and went on our way. Micah started coughing late that night and by Friday morning I knew it was bronchitis again! I also thought Em seemed to be getting worse not better. I took Micah to the doctor and they went ahead and did Em's 9 month visit. Micah did in fact have bronchitis so we left there with a diagnosis of allergy induced asthma. We got prescriptions this time for preventative medicines, things that will hopefully treat the allergies and bronchial tubes and help his lungs stay stronger so they won't be so likely to get sick again. They weighed Emmie for her visit and she is now 17 pounds and 27.25 inches long. She's finally putting on weight and eats like crazy. When they checked her ears, her one ear infection had moved to a double, while she was on an antibiotic! By the time we left the office, both kids had been given an antibiotic shot and 3 prescriptions for Micah. Yes, she's only wearing a shirt! One more cute picture...her cool weather clothes it's probably the last time she'll get to wear them this season. We had a rather unusual Easter evening, we took Micah bowling for the first time! I don't think he knew what to expect, but he had a blast. He used the bumpers on the lane and a ramp to put the ball on. He carried the ball to the ramp and then pushed it down towards the pins. I think he was most excited about carrying the ball to the ramp and wasn't too excited about the actual pins falling. I think it's lost on him since he doesn't comprehend the whole scoring part. Emerson sat in the stroller most of the time, we played 2 games which took an hour. Emmie sat like a great girl until the middle of the 2nd game. She loved clapping when we celebrated. Watching it go! Yeah...he knocked down a few and actually got a strike a couple of times. He had to use the fan to dry his hands...they get really sweaty when your game is hot! We had 3 showings on our house last Thursday and Friday and we got an email from our realtor about an incoming offer. I think it's with a closing date that's farther out than we'd like, but we're hopeful about the offer and maybe we can work something out. I am excited, thinking the market here is picking up so maybe we'll have more showings this next week and weekend. We are ready to be moved and I'm ready to not have to keep my house so clean and ready to be out the door with a spotless house at a moment's notice! Keep us in our prayers...we're ready to move!
We've had a crazy past few weeks around here. I am sad to report that our buyer's financing fell through and pulled out of the contract. We're still praying that a buyer will come soon. We are renegotiating with the builder in SA to see if we can extend the closing until the end of April to give us more time to find a new buyer. We'll keep everyone updated but we're not moving yet. We are both so ready to be moved and settled into a new house so keep our family in your prayers. I left for Dallas last Wednesday to visit with my grandpa (Pa) in the hospital and with my Mamaw. We drove up and met my Dad at the hospital so he could help me with my kids. The kids got to see both Mamaw & Pa again and I would like to think they brought a little sunshine to the hospital room. My Pa looked very good considering the all-consuming cancer they found in his body. I spent the rest of the week visiting him in the hospital and just spending time as a family with him. My kids stayed with my in-laws and enjoyed their time there also, their Granna always has fun activities for them. As an added bonus it snowed about 6 inches while they were there and Micah loved it! Matthew & Amanda visited one day so Micah got to play with Matthew and he loved it! My brother flew in on Sunday to visit Pa, so we spent the day in Corsicana with family. It was great to see Matt even if the visit was quick. I love watching him with Emmie (we left Micah in Denton again). He's always loved babies but he's so funny with Em, he loved talking to her and carrying her around. I guess he missed Ava so Emmie could fill the void for a little bit. I'll admit, it was nice to have someone else carrying her and getting her in and out of the car! Pa went home to be with God on Monday morning, it was very sad but I am so thankful that we know exactly where he went and I know he's not in pain anymore. We had a family graveside service on Tuesday and just spent the day with family. For the most part it was a joyous occasion, and it was incredible to see just how much one person can touch his family. We all loved him in different ways but he was a great grandfather to us all and we're blessed to have had him. We spent Wednesday at my parents' house relaxing and recuperating for the crazy week. My dad helped Micah build a fire outside with the great idea to roast marshmallows. Of course he liked the fire but wouldn't try the marshmallows. Casey brought her new dog Gracie over for a visit and she kept trying to steal the burning sticks from the fire!
Emerson took her first ride with Micah on the gator. I couldn't tell if she was having fun, but she wasn't crying! The starts and stops were so abrupt that we added a ball in front of her to act as her air bag! Micah loved driving her in it, I think it's more fun for him when he has a passenger! We ended up having a great time in Dallas regardless of the reason we visited! Micah enjoyed spending the night and playing so much at Granna's house and I'm so thankful that she was so helpful to care for the kids at a moment's notice to allow me to spend time with my family without worrying about how my kids were doing. I know they're always having a great time with Granna & Da. Emerson spent a lot of time in the car driving back & forth and she did great. She's really a great baby, Zac & I say every day just how cute we think she is and what a great addition she is to our family. Emerson is now 9 months old and she is learning so much! She can wave and say hi, says Dada, bubba (micah), can clap when you ask her to and can do pat-a-cake! She is almost completely on table food and is great eater, she's eaten everything I've tried. We go for her 9 month checkup later this month but I'd guess she's about 16 pounds. She's little but I think she takes after Granna & her family, she'll have a small frame...Emmie's blessed with good genes! We got an old guitar while at my Mema's house last week. I am very excited to be updating again so soon! We put our house back on the market last Wednesday and had our first showing Thursday. Friday night we had a great offer and had accepted. We signed the paperwork Saturday morning and then headed off to SA to look for a house. We were very lucky that my cousin Amanda was available to help us (she's our realtor). We drove that morning and met her and started to look. We saw a few houses that were existing and then headed to the builder in that neighborhood. We found our perfect house in the builder's inventory. It was everything we were looking for, even the gas cooktop we really wanted and it's hard to find in SA. We ended up writing a contract that afternoon. So after a very busy day, we had a contract on a new house. Our kids were great during all the in and out of the car and exhaustion of no naps. We were glad to see our hotel that evening and everyone slept great.
Keep us in your thoughts & prayers as we have a 7 day option period to get through on our house, the inspection is scheduled for tomorrow and we're not expecting anything major to pop up but please pray it goes well and that we're on our way to a closing. The closing date is set for March 21st and we have until the 31st to close on our new house, so we have a little room for problems.
Now onto the not so great part, my mom's dad is in the hospital so I'll be heading to Dallas on Wednesday to be able to see him. He's not doing great, but I am so thankful at this time that I have a great relationship with both of my grandparents so though I am so sad at the thought that's he's not doing well, but I'm thankful that I get to see them often. I want to go now since after this week things will probably get pretty crazy with the houses.
