Getting better around here!
It's so much better around here! The bathroom is mostly finished, well all the major work is done and they still need to clean the tile to remove a haze left when they grouted without cleaning the sponge and finish touch-up painting, but we're pretty much done!
Here is a picture of my new bathroom...with the level, flat floor!
My parents got here on Monday and we've just been playing all week. The kids have had a ton of fun with a grandparent for each. Emmie has really taken to my dad, she acts insulted if he goes by her without saying hi or flirting with her! It's funny to watch. We spent Thursday at Sea World with Rosey & her boys. The day was long and so fun. I think we spent 7 hours playing there, riding the little roller coaster and a few other rides.
Grandpa & G.G. on a ride...it turned out it was a ride where it took forever to load as they stopped at each one to load and unload. While they did this...you guessed it, they sat in the sun. Mom & Dad reported that it wasn't bad, but I'm not sure they would have done it for me as a kid, grandkids are so lucky!
We fed the sea lions little dead fish...Micah actually threw one in. I was a little surprised he touched one but Grandpa did it first so I'm sure he realized it wouldn't hurt. The sea lions were cute and funny, Emmie loves pointing them out as if she's the only one who sees them and needs to show you.
Here were are experiencing the sea lions.
We had a great week with Grandpa and G.G. here. I got my house decorated a little more, the curtains are made and hung. I need to hem the last 3 panels but I ran out of thread and the fabric store isn't very close so they hanging without hems for now. I also got to go shopping with my mom and no kids for wall decorations! It was awesome and very fast to not put 2 kids in and out of the car at every store and I'm sure they had more fun at home with Grandpa & daddy. Here are a few pictures of our living room decor. Ignore the crazy out of place stuff...we were moving things around to find the best place for everything.
On Saturday before my parents left, we drove up to Natural Bridge Wildlife Safari and drove through that. We went early in the day while it was still cool outside and the animals were great. I took pictures with Mom's camera but have yet to see them...hint, hint! If I get pictures of it I'll post them too. The Zebras came right up to the car window and I think we got a picture of Micah petting a zebra...not something everyone can say. It was a great time for all of us, the kids love animals and being outside!
What a rare picture...they're both happy and looking the right way!
There was also a small petting zoo which promised some kind of goat and other animals but only goats were there for petting. This was Emmie's first experience with any animal other than a dog or cat and she enjoyed every part of it! There was one young goat that kept eating our clothes...if you look closely at Em's shirt you can see the goat is eating her too. I often think she's so cute I could eat her up but the goat took that seriously!

My parents left on Sunday and we are still going through withdrawal but luckily they'll be back soon. They are coming back for my birthday and my dad & Zac are going to build me a deck on the back of our house. The weather here is so nice I want a place we can put patio furniture so I can sit outside in the evenings and enjoy the breeze and peace after we put the kids down. I am so excited about it, I just can't wait!
I think that's all the news for now. We signed Micah up for swim lessons this fall so we're excited about that too. Emerson doesn't have any exciting news right now, other than she learned to walk backwards yesterday. It's funny to watch as she takes tiny steps one at a time backwards but she did stop to clap for herself. She's a sweet little girl and so different from Micah.
Here are a few other random pictures from the past week.
Emmie & Grandpa reading our new favorite book from the library...it's a duck book that quacks and she LOVES it!
Here the kids are putting stickers from the GFI box on my dad's head. My dad put in a few plugs for Zac in the garage and needed a GFI and the box came with stickers that were intended to go on the plugs buy my kids had other plans! They had so much fun sticking it to dad's head...I guess they're lucky he's lacking hair there!
Emmie wearing Micah's "muffs" in the car at the Safari ranch. There's really no point to this picture other than I think she looks adorable! And the last one...I think her cheeks are so cute smooshed (I know this isn't a word but it describes it perfectly) by the muffs.
