Really busy and big news!

Well, it's been a while since I've updated this site. We've been really busy with visitors, sickness and big changes. We're officially moving to San Antonio! We put our house on the market today and we're praying the process goes well and quickly. Once we get a contract for sale on our house we'll head back to San Antonio to look at houses to buy. We visited a few weeks ago and only found what we didn't want. We've been researching more areas online and we think we've found an area we'll like so we'll just have to see what is available when we're ready to go. We're hoping to find an inventory home from a builder there.
We're all just getting over a bad summer cold. Micah got sick first and then spread it to everyone in the house. The worst part is that Emmie & I can't take any medicine so we're just toughing it out. Luckily, we're all finally on the mend. We can only guess that Micah picked up the cold on the airplane ride back from Dallas, yet another reason I'm not flying with 2 kids by myself again anytime soon. My parents were here for a week before my birthday and convinced me to drive home with them and the kids so we could go to a family baby shower and then fly home. The visit itself was great, Emmie got to meet her great-grandmother and see my mom's family, and totally worth all the trouble but she was horrible on the flight home. Micah on the other hand absolutely loved the plane ride and behaved better than I could have asked for. Luckily the flight is short so Emmie crying wasn't really that bad, just stressful for me, but we all survived and made my grandmother happy. While we were in Dallas we visited the fire station and Micah loved it! This is first time he's been really into everything, and the ambulance came back from a run while we were outside, backed in the station and turned on their lights for Micah...he was so excited! Here is driving the engine and sitting on the siren.

My mom found this cute hat that actually matches a cute dress Zac's mom bought Emmie...I can't wait for her to wear the whole outfit. Have I said this post what fun girls are?
Here is Casey wearing Emmie in my moby wrap...it's awesome. I use it when we go to Target or out shopping because Emmie can ride until she falls asleep and then I just tuck her little head under the fabric and she's nice and tight for a nap.
The family baby shower...so much fun and a great 4 generations picture.

Amanda & Matthew Visit

Amanda & Matthew came on Monday and stayed until Thursday morning. The boys had so much fun together and loved playing. I'm not sure either one ever stopped talking or running around. They chased each other, talked and played hours of cars & trains. The boys even managed to have their own conversations. At one point Micah told us that Matthew missed his Nana...it's so funny because no adult had told Micah anything about Matthew's Nana so they must have talked about it. The time they were here was so much fun for everyone, but I must admit I was amazed at just how much noise two boys can make! It's exhausting to listen to their crazy noise. I was so pleased at how well they play, there were very few, if any, times when Amanda or I had to intervene because they were fighting. Micah tries to get Matthew to do all the strange things he loves to do...for example Micah loves sitting in the front windows and so he got Matthew to do it too. Here are the silly boys...

We had loaned out our bumbo seat and got it back the other day. This picture is the first time I put Emmie in it! She did so great and held her head up high and steady. I was really surprised because Micah was much older when he first sat in it and he didn't really like it. Of course as soon as Micah saw her in it he needed it. He's so silly, he was trying to climb the cabinets to get to her and later grabbed his book, squished his butt in it and read a book. He's a silly boy.

The last picture is just a funny one I caught the other day. I sat Emmie down on the chair to grab something before I fed her and saw Micah carefully climb up, sit down and talk to her. She's just so funny, she loves watching and listening to him.

All alone

We've been all alone this week with no visitors for a few days. Micah loves to watch Emerson in the swing...I'm not sure what the lure is, but I must tell him 10 times to leave her alone. Despite the interference from Micah she still loves to swing! The other day I turned around and he had a book reading it to her and I was fast enough to grab the camera and get a picture of it.
I decided I needed to put Emmie in her girly outfits even if we're not leaving the house or they will never get used! It feels silly to put her in a dress to play in the house but oh well...at least she looks cute! I sat her in the rocking chair to get a picture of her and Micah wanted in too...of course. Here they are posing for the picture and holding hands.

I'm finally getting more serious about making Emerson do tummy time. She loves playing on her back and really hates her tummy so I put her in the boppy today and let Micah entertain her. She's still not thrilled about being on her tummy but she did better.
