Another fun weekend

My parents came to visit us again this weekend. Micah loves playing with his Grandpa and isn't too excited about sharing him with Emmie. The boys managed to get lots of good playing in while Grandpa was here. My mom brought him an old Tonka fire truck and Micah is obsessed with it and really wanted my dad to play with him. They made waffles for breakfast, read the newspaper...well okay Micah just tore the pages and looked for cars but he had fun! They also did a little drawing at the big table! Micah loves to trace his hands but needs a lot of help. And just when I thought Micah couldn't get any stranger he does, he's started referring to himself as "Micah-man". He's also called himself Micah but now he's added man to the end and it's cracking me up. I sometimes call him that but he's just now picked it up and decided to use it. My poor Mom never gets a picture with Micah because she's always behind the camera. I guess I need to be better about making sure she is captured having fun with Micah too!!

Emmie is also 8 weeks now, she'll be 2 months next week and she's doing great! She likes to make eyes with anyone who'll talk and smile at her. She's even starting to make laughing sounds, it's not quite a laugh yet but it soon will be. Her favorite thing is just laying on the floor "talking" to anyone who will talk to her!
Here she is in a cute little girly sleeper her Aunt Casey sent her, as you can see, she's clearly thrilled to be spoiled!

And just a couple more pictures of her just because it's fun to take them and I think she's adorable!

Staying at home!

We have been busy these past few weeks. For the first time since Emmie was born we've had no visitors for almost 2 weeks, and while we've enjoyed the time alone we're excited about having visitors again soon. I ventured out to Target yesterday by myself with both kids and we actually all survived and had a nice time. I wore Emerson in a Moby Wrap that I bought so I could use and have my hands free to keep Micah in control and to shop. It worked great and she actually fell asleep while we were shopping. I think that would be wonderful, being carried around Target looking at all the great stuff and then just drifting to sleep!
Emerson has been doing great lately about going down for her naps and she has lengthened her night sleep. This week she has been sleep from around 9pm to a little after 5am. I am loving all the uninterrupted sleep this early, she was 7 weeks on Tuesday. Micah did the same thing around this age and I was expecting worse from Emmie but we worked at it and I have been rewarded with another good sleeper!
I caught this cute picture of Micah in Zac's lap watching tv the other day and once I gave them Emmie to hold, I couldn't resist taking a picture!

This morning Emmie was in a great mood and would smile and coo at almost anything so I put on her changing table and got this cute picture!

Finally updating!

I also added more pictures to the slide show that are not on this post.

I didn't realize it had been so long since I've updated the blog and added pictures. Emerson is almost 6 weeks old now. She started medicine for reflux almost 2 weeks ago because she was screaming so much after eating. She never spit up but would scream at the top of her lungs in pain after eating and would continue screaming until she passed out and fell asleep. It happened for about a week and when we went for her 1 month check-up the doctor said she saw some evidence of reflux in her throat. They prescribed Axid for a trial period of a week and we saw results almost immediately. The screaming subsided but did not go away completely and she was starting to spit up so the doctor sent us for an upper GI last Tuesday. It was not a fun thing for her but it did let us know that there is no blockage in her small intestine and that she does have reflux. I felt much better knowing that she really has reflux and that we're treating the right thing and not unnecessarily medicating her. The doctor changed her medicine to Prevacid and it has been awesome. She is now a happy little girl and we are really enjoying getting to know her personality and watching her discover her new world.
We've had a busy few weeks, Zac's mom was here with us for a week. It was a great visit for Micah & I, Emmie was in the middle of her screaming fits so I can't say she got to enjoy her Granna or vice versa. Micah got to go to Chuckie Cheese for the first time and loved it, his favorite game was at the end where he got to put his tickets in a machine to be counted so he could buy a prize. The machine sounded like it was eating the tickets and he thought it was so fun!
Ben, Amanda & Matthew came the day Lee left for the weekend. The boys had such a great time playing together and were so great at sharing everything. It's so fun to watch them interact and Micah is so blessed to have a cousin his age to play with. Their favorite thing was jumping on Micah's bed, they kept saying "Two silly boys jumping on the bed". One of the silly boys, Matthew ended up with a bloody lip but he recovered quickly and the boys actually stopped jumping on the bed! It was a fun weekend of cars, trucks and trains! Emerson got to meet Amanda & Ben and gave Amanda a good amount of cuddle time. We can't wait until they can visit again!
My mom couldn't stay away either. She didn't have much to do at home last week so she drove down on Tuesday and spent the week with us. It was great timing for me since I had to take Emmie for the GI and I got to leave Micah at home with her. Micah had a blast playing and reading books with G.G., and Emerson loves all the cuddle time with her. It is so nice for me to have my mom here, I feel like I get a wonderful break from holding Emmie. I love holding her, but it's been a huge adjustment for me because Micah is so independent so a newborn again has been hard. My mom is also great about taking pictures while she's here, so she is really the person to thank for all the pictures.
Now for all the pictures!
