The nursery!

The nursery is finally mostly done! We still have a pile of books to be put in the attic and Micah's tv & chair, but everything else is setup. Zac is going to make her name to put on the wall like he did for Micah and we need a few things for the wall decorations, but ideas have escaped me thus far. The bedding and curtain I made with help from my mother-in-law, I love it and am so excited about it!

Rodeo/Petting Zoo

We went to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo petting zoo last week while Zac's mom was in town. I had thought Micah's favorite part would be the petting zoo and animals, but I was wrong! Although he did enjoy seeing the animals and petting them, he loved climbing on the display tractors and trucks the most. Lee also took him on the carousel and on a pirate ship ride. He loved them!! He cried when he had to leave and just kept talking about the boat for the next few days. Micah had so much fun with his Granna & Da. I think he enjoyed getting to play outside for so much of the day. We even took him to a park in town and he just keeps reminding us that we went to a different park. It's funny to watch him process everything and remember things that we've done in recent days!

Bench

Micah is crazy for benches right now. It's strange, he loves to climb up on every bench he sees and just sit there. Here he is on the back porch just sitting and making silly faces for the camera.

New Scrapbook Pages

I have tried to make myself get better about scrapbooking Micah's adventures. Here are a few of my latest pages.

First Zoo Trip

We went to the zoo with friends yesterday, it was Micah's first trip and he LOVED it!
We got to see all the memorable animals, there were elephants and even a baby one! There was water coming down to let the elephants drink and play in and Micah kept telling the baby one to take a shower! It was funny to watch him get so excited and to know the names of the animals. We also got to see giraffes, two mommies with each a baby. The lions were sleeping but he could see them although not to well so the excitement was limited. He really liked the jaguar and even learned to say the name and growl. Of course one of his favorite parts was the monkeys. He loved watching them climbing and jumping around. He did a great job of sitting in his stroller and looking. He didn't even complain much when we took him out to see and then put him back in.

There was a children's zoo dedicated to kids and their entertainment, which included a small petting zoo. He got to pet the goats up close and run around in their pen.
There was also a small playground for him to work off a little energy and a few signs were he could push a button and hear an animal sound. That was a favorite for him...what could be better than buttons and animals sounds?
